Kids copy everything

Today we were at church and Carter saw a mom who was nursing her baby. He was asking her lots of questions about what she was doing. So when we came home from church, Carter grabbed a baby doll of Nicole's and a blanket and put the doll up to his chest, covered the baby up with the blanket, and told me he was feeding the baby. Soooooo cute!

Mommy and Daddy need to be more discreet

Tonight Luke and I were sitting on the couch and LUke was still in his work pants. So he stood up and took off his work pants and laid back down on the couch. Carter then came up to me and said " Mommy, you need to go and play with Daddy's pee pee." I died laughing. Guess we need to be a bit more discreet now :)

Surrogate Journey

Well, my journey as a surrogate mother is finally going to really begin ! I met John and Alyse Merritt on the internet in January of 2006. They posted that they were a Christian couple looking for a Christian surrogate mother who wouldnt consider termination or selective reduction. We started talking and were just meant for each other. God gave Luke and I a peace and excitement about doing this for them. We all flew to Florida to meet them in February and our feelings were only confirmed. Since then there has been many shots, Dr. appts, calls to annoying attorneys who never call back, pills, patches, annoying nurses (naming no names :) but now today Alyse is having her surgery to get her eggs out and the precious little babies will begin their lives today. Modern science is amazing. I will then fly to Florida this Friday and have the transfer either Saturday or Monday. I am excited that it is finally happening. I feel like a lab rat right now with all these drugs circulating through my body, but I know it will all be worth it in the end. I cant believe I am going to be pregnant again in a few days. Am I totally insane!????

Amazing Observation skills !!

Oh my goodness, I had no clue how observant 21/2 year olds can be. Luke and I have discovered that we are going to have to be a little more discreat about where and when we do things :) The other night, Luke was lying on the couch naked and Carter walked up to him pointed at his penis and said "What is that?" It was hilarious And then later on I was lying on the couch and took my pants off and Carter comes up to me and says "Mommy pants on!" "Daddy dont take mommy's pants off" I just looked at Luke like "I guess he told you" They sure grown up fast these days :(

Obsession with nakedness

Carter you are now obsessed with being Naked and taking off your diaper in the most inconvenient places. The other day I was trying to go shopping at Old Navy with 2 kids (Ha! Yeah right) and I look down and you have taken off your shorts and diaper and are just sitting there showing everyone your package. I looked around and thankfully noone was really paying attention. Boys ARRGGGGHHHH

ni night hot

Tonight Daddy built a fire and we watched it for a long time. When it was time for you to go to bed Carter, you said ni night daddy, ni night mommy, ni night "hot" to the fire. It was sooo cute.

Carter and Doctors

Oh my little Carter Alan. You will definitely be like your mommy when it comes to pain tolerance. A few weeks ago I took you to the doctor because you had been running a fever for several days. He sent me to get blood work on you. When the nurses came to draw your blood, they tied the tie around your arm and you didnt even cry. Then you just sat and looked at the needle as it went it not even making a peep. When the took the needle out and bandaged you, you looked at the nurses and said "Thankyou" They were blown away. You were definitely their nicest patient. What a sweety..
